The Small Business Relief Fund is a collaboration between the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, The Pasadena Community Foundation and the City of Pasadena to assist small businesses in recovering from the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis and resulting business closures. It is intended to augment federal, state and local aid in supporting Pasadena businesses and sustaining the local economy.

COVID-19 has seriously curtailed blood donations. As a result our local hospitals and the Red Cross need donations NOW. 

Huntington Hospital's Blood Donation Center remains open. If you are currently eligible, please contact the Blood Donor Center to schedule your next donation at (626) 397-5422.

PEACEFUL PROTESTS CONTINUE IN PASADENA

But first:

Since we haven't hosted a Pasadena Chamber networking event and have been practicing social distancing, i cannot offer photos of new members.

However, despite the pandemic, the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce is very pelased to introduce these new members from March and April:

Over the weekend, in response to the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, hundreds of protesters staged peaceful demonstrations and vigils in Pasadena. Demonstrators were peaceful and non-confrontational. While some busnesses were potentially disrupted, the demonstrators were respectful in their protests. There were some reports that some individuals tried to breach stores in Old Pasadena Sunday evening, but police responded quickly and damage was reported to be slight.

Los Angeles County Allows Hair Salons, Barbershops and In-person Dining to Reopen Immediately with Safeguards in Place

Pasadena Water & Power, Water Division is seeking local contractors to work on projects at the facilities owned and operated by the utility.  The projects are generally in these trades:

            Concrete – pads and small retaining wall

            Roofing – all types

As of Thursday, May 21st, the world has seen 5,047, 377 cases of Covid-19 with 329,816 deaths. In the US we have seen 1,562,714 cases with 93, 863 deaths. In California, we have experienced 88, 10-7 cases with 3,592 deaths. LA County has seen 42, 037 cases with 2, 016 fatalities. In Pasadena we have had 79 fatalities with 790 cases. The predominace of infections in Pasadena occurred in senior living or senior care facilities.
