What Is CALSTART? CALSTART is a nonprofit organization that works with businesses and the public sector to develop and implement clean, efficient transportation solutions. We've been at the epicenter of these efforts since 1992, when we launched in California. Since then we've expanded our focus across North America and helped drive transportation technology successes worldwide. We have more than 130 member companies - start-up and established, government, NGOs, academicians and technologists from all over the United States and around the world as well.

The Fire Family Foundation (FFF) was established in 2008, with the mission to provide support to firefighters and their families during times of need. With the help of the community, our foundation provides vital financial support to the Fire Family throughout the nation. There are a number of ways to get involved to help firefighters. The FFF is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

Flintridge Center’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and violence through community planning, innovation, and action. Our vision is of a healthy, safe community where families thrive, youth reach their full potential, and equality and opportunity are accessible to all. We provide a continuum of services from adolescence through adulthood, focusing on youth and families impacted by incarceration. These strategies encompass a continuum of trauma-informed youth diversion and development programming and adult reintegration services that prevent and intervene in cycles of incarceration. Our youth programs support academic, social, and emotional outcomes for youth at high risk of justice involvement and youth with incarcerated family members. Reintegration services provide pathways to self-sufficiency for formerly incarcerated adults by expanding career opportunities and connecting individuals with supportive resources.

Leadership Pasadena is a powerful, 8-month community leadership program that immerses you in Pasadena’s rich history, government, economics and world renowned organizations and institutions and provides executive level leadership training.

LP includes a two-day high and low ropes course retreat; DiSC®, StrengthsFinder 2.0 and Positive Intelligence Quotient (PQ®) assessments; Project Implicit Social Attitudes test;  20+ hours of education on current leadership theories and concepts; peer coaching; one-on-one executive coaching; 60+ hours of experiential, on-site education about Pasadena and personal discussions with community leaders and 30+ hours of direct community service in partnership with a Pasadena non-profit.

Our graduates serve as leaders on non-profit Boards or staffs, sit on city commissions and neighborhood associations, run for public office, lead socially responsible successful businesses or become empowered, engaged citizens.  And, they find friendships based upon similar interests that last for years.

We’re young. We’re fun. And we get things done.

The Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce, nicknamed the “Jaycees”, was founded in 1929 for young professionals dedicated to becoming a positive force in the Pasadena community. Nearly a century later, the Pasadena Jaycees remain true to this founding goal. We are an organization made up of young people between the ages of 21 and 40, who want to improve the lives of those in the Pasadena (and greater Los Angeles) area through community service.

As part of JCI (Junior Chamber International), we also strive to take “local action for global impact.” We work to challenge the status quo and inspire other young people to recognize their responsibility to create a better world. (We also have a yearly exchange program with the Kasukabe, Japan chapter of JCI!)

We give our members a chance to develop leadership skills through community service projects, and we also engage with the community and support local businesses through our many social events and group activities. We’re always looking to partner with more businesses and volunteer groups in our area, and new members are always welcome!

Giving support to community football

THE PASADENA ROTARY CLUB has over 200 members that meet weekly at the University Club Pasadena to build lifelong friendships with some of the friendliest, most dynamic and successful people in our community. Weekly Wednesday lunch meetings with over 100 business, professional, community leaders, community activists/volunteers and retirees contributing to the well-being and growth of the community, region, and world. Programs include: Happy Feet (providing shoes at the start of a school year for PYUSD elementary school students); Adopt-A-School; Dan Stove Music Contest; 4-way Speech Contest; Community Grants; Done In A Day; Toy Drive; RYLA-Teen Leadership; Project Corazon Super Build; Holiday Bicycle Giveaway and Teachers of Excellence to name a few.

The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, opened in 1990 and is located in Pasadena’s beautiful Brookside Park, just south of the famous Rose Bowl Stadium. This world-class aquatics facility offers year-round aquatic and fitness programming to children, youth, families, and seniors so that all generations can achieve the benefits of healthy living habits, regular exercise, and sports training. The RBAC is best known as the training facility for the Rose Bowl Aquatics swim team, as well as Rose Bowl Masters swimming, Rose Bowl diving teams, and the Rose Bowl water polo club.   The RBAC serves more than 450,000 patrons annually
